I love to craft. I've been crafting in one form or another all my life and never tire of learning new skills or updating old ones. I learn something new everyday and can never find enough free hours in my day to do all the things I'd like to. I'm new to Blogging but hope to get better at it as we go along............any hints or tips would be most welcome.

Making a Mothers Day Gift

I have been making a Mothers Day Gift. My Mother in Law is such a great seamstress and I had an idea to make a large cotton reel with a pin cushion on top - part useful part novelty.
I went to the Scrapstore locally and picked up a 5inch tall black plastic reel, and some wall paper samples.
I have cut out the paper to cover the reel as below:

After this dried, I made a small velvet pin cushion for the top, I also stuck a pair of
scissors ( charms) on the top.

More info and more Pictures to follow     :O)

Card and Tag for My 18 year old Nephew............

I made these using:

A4 Black Card
A5 Shiny white card
A5 cream card
Creative Expressions embossing folder
Hands for clock from Oriental Trading Co, Ohio, USA
Tim Holtz die cuts pre cut from eBay seller
Tim Holtz distress inks

I embossed the cream card and cut it to a tag shape
I then embossed the shiny card with the same embossing folder.

Then once dried, I carefully used the Tim Holtz distresses ink pad over the tag, to show up the
clock hands and faces.
I did the same with the card front, but as it was shiny card, it gave a very metallic finish.

I then attached all the clock hands to both the tag and the card front, the clock hands on the card were made from cut out from embossed card.
The hands on the tag were purchased from Oriental Trading.
They are found on line.

I then popped all the card together finishing off with the Tim Holtz cut outs
that I had purchased from Ebay.

Fantasy Film - love it, just found out how to use it !

Love using this, it's just so easy, have made a few large red flowers, will pop more pictures on later.
If you haven't tried it, you really must, would be great to do with children, well if they are over say 5 years old. I know my Granddaughters 4 1/2 and she would just get into a terrible mess. But in a year or so, it's one I know she'll love.

Found a lovely, packed new ( to me) craft shop in Bletchley, Milton Keynes!

I found this amazing craft shop in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. It's choc-a-block with all sorts of crafting goodies. I cant believe its been there for 3 years and I only found it by accident last week. I must walk around with my head in the clouds at times.
Its well worth going to. The people are lovely and crafters with somthing going on in the shop nearly every day of the week.  It's a must, if like me you love to craft.
Treated myself to some Tim Holtz embossing folders but will be going back for more, and hopefully signing up for some crafting events :O) cant wait.

Tattered roses I have made using scraps of Sain and Velvet......

I have made these roses from scraps, odds and ends
I was very pleased with the way they look.
This is the best one I think !

Loved the blue which is not like me as reds seem to be more my colour usually

Think I may add more layers to the above and see how they look then !

Hope you liked my flowers

Happy Crafting !
